Ordering & pricing
How do I get a quote?
Use the quote form or call (647) 494-7229. Every field on the form is optional, so share what you have: the product, quantity, size and print colours help us price accurately. We reply with pricing, options and a production timeline.
What is your minimum order quantity?
It depends on the product and the print method. Pop top tubes and 125 mm screw-cap tubes start at 40,000 units and wide screw-cap tubes at 30,000. Digitally printed pouches, labels and cartons suit much smaller runs. Tell us your quantity and we will recommend the most cost-effective option.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, we offer flexible payment plans. Ask about the options when you request your quote.
Is there an obligation when I request a quote?
No. Quotes are free, and production only starts after you approve your proof.
Lead times & delivery
How fast are your lead times?
Tubes run on a 30-day production lead time. Printed pouches, roll stock and folding cartons depend on the print method, quantity and finishes, and every quote includes a production timeline so you can plan your launch.
Where do you deliver?
We supply brands across Canada and the United States, with a focus on Ontario, British Columbia, Washington and Oregon.
Can you ship to my co-packer?
Yes. We can ship pouches or roll stock straight to your co-packer or fulfilment centre.
Printing & artwork
Digital, flexo or rotogravure: which should I choose?
Choose digital for the quickest turnaround, short runs and multiple designs, since there are no plates to make. Choose flexo for the most cost-effective unit price on medium and long runs. Rotogravure suits very large, repeat runs that need premium image quality and the lowest unit cost at volume.
Do you charge plate fees?
Not on digital printing. Flexo uses printing plates and rotogravure uses engraved cylinders, which pay off on longer runs through a lower unit price.
Can you match my brand colours?
Yes. We print with the Pantone Matching System so your colours stay consistent across pouches, tubes, labels and cartons.
Do I get a proof before production?
Yes. Every order starts with a dieline and a digital proof, and physical samples are available on request.
Can you help with artwork and dielines?
Yes. We supply dielines, set up label templates and review your artwork before it goes to print.
Pouches & bags
What size pouch do I need?
It depends on your product’s volume, not just its weight. Tell us the product and fill weight and we will recommend dimensions, and we can send samples to test-fill.
Do coffee bags need a valve?
If you pack soon after roasting, yes. A one-way degassing valve lets carbon dioxide out without letting oxygen in.
Are your mylar bags child-resistant?
Our child-resistant pouches are certified, in stand-up and lay-flat designs. Ask for the certification documents for the exact format you order.
What is the difference between quad seal and flat-bottom bags?
Both stand well. Flat-bottom bags have a folded box base and five printable panels; quad seal bags have four sealed corners that add rigidity for heavier fills.
Tubes
What colours do your pop top tubes come in?
Generic white, generic black and clear are our standard colours, and we can produce any custom Pantone colour.
What tube sizes do you offer?
Pop top tubes in 98, 114, 116 and 120 mm plus wide 14, 24 and 26 mm sizes; a 125 mm screw-cap tube; and wide screw-cap tubes in 77, 116 and 123 mm.
Can tubes be labelled automatically?
Yes. Our tubes are compatible with labelling automation, and a compliant label template is available.
Cartons & boxes
What is the difference between folding cartons and corrugated boxes?
Folding cartons are single-ply paperboard, usually 14 to 24 pt, made for retail shelves. Corrugated boxes have a fluted layer between linerboards, which makes them far stronger for shipping.
Which carton finishes can be combined?
Most of them. Popular combinations include soft-touch lamination with gold foil, spot gloss UV over matte, and foil stamping with registered embossing.
Do boxes ship flat?
Yes. Folding cartons and corrugated boxes ship flat to save freight and storage space.
Compliance & sustainability
Can you help with cannabis compliance?
We supply certified child-resistant pouches, tubes with child-resistant closures and compliant label templates. Canadian cannabis packaging must also follow Health Canada’s plain-packaging rules, so always check final artwork against the current guide.
Do you offer eco-friendly packaging?
Yes: recyclable film structures, recycled and kraft paperboard, aqueous coatings and plant-based inks. Recyclability depends on the structure and on local programs, so we will help you choose and describe your packaging accurately.
Are you a Canadian company?
Yes. Lion Packaging is a proud Canadian company, serving brands across Canada and the United States.
